Brain Injury
A brain injury does not show up on a routine scan, which is exactly what the defense relies on. Proving it takes the right testing and the people who knew you before.
A normal CT rules out nothing
CT finds bleeds. It does not find diffuse axonal injury. Advanced imaging and neuropsychological testing establish the injury, and you should expect the clean scan to be offered as proof you are fine.
The symptoms arrive late
Headaches, memory failure, irritability and personality change often surface days or weeks after the wreck, which is usually after you have already told an adjuster you felt alright.
The best witnesses are the people around you
A spouse, a coworker, a friend. They describe the change more persuasively than any expert, and that testimony has to be gathered while the contrast is still sharp.
The number is a lifetime number
Life-care planners and economists price the care, the lost capacity and the supervision across a normal lifespan. That projection is the case.
